Health risks in Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery risks are more likely in some persons than others, as with all medical procedures. In particular, those who smoke, are elderly, or are grossly overweight are more likely to have problems. Both physical and mental side effects might result from plastic surgery. Common side effects include hematoma, bruising, loss of blood, nerve damage, infections, thrombosis of deep veins, and seroma. Consequences from plastic surgery are low overall. Less than 1% of outpatient procedures experience problems, according to a 2018 assessment of more than 25,000 cases.
